M.F. Husain

Maqbool Fida Husain was a founding member of the Progressive Artists’ Group in Bombay in 1947. He explored Indian mythology, everyday life, cinema and national identity through bold colour and angular, energetic figures. Horses became one of his recurring subjects.

What to look for

Follow the movement of the line rather than searching for photographic detail. Look at how colour blocks create rhythm.

The portraits of Sher-Gil and Husain are AI-illustrated tributes, not original artworks or archival photographs.
